• Assisting in the completion of a monthly commercial report to satisfy the needs of an actual cost contract. I have to show costs and then provide substantiation to ensure the company received payment of what we deemed to be owed. Entering monthly discussions about queries regarding the monthly report to resolve as effectively and positively as possible• An incentive scheme was offered to the operational gangs for achieving daily targets, to track this, I created an excel document that was able to bring several different reports together using a range of formulas which then was able to calculate the bonus. The use of conditional formatting allowed the easy identification of who had earned a bonus and who hadn’t. • Producing monthly/weekly Excel reports enabling the managing and supervising teams to see clearly which of the operational gangs are performing well and which need support to achieve greater results. • Producing a weekly financial application for one of the principal contractors M&S works for. Analysing what work the operational gangs have undertaken and assigning costs for the hours worked. Sending off the application and then discussing any queries the principal contractor provides us with.• Dealing with local council charges which have been given to us because of non-compliance. Negotiating terms and value of the charge as well as providing evidence to overturn. I produced a tracker to clearly demonstrate who was at fault, the value of the charge, any further information and whether the charge had been charged back to the offending party. This is one of a few trackers I have implemented since working for the company which have resulted in greater organisation and efficiency. • Dealing with external suppliers in order to make sure the operational gangs have the right equipment, plant and materials on every job they undertake. Obtaining invoices to update a purchase order file, as well as managing on/off hires of the plant in question.

My time with M&S water services involved many different roles and responsibilities. As part of managing the customer service department i had different roles including, sending out letters to customers to get their feedback on the work carried out, responding to any negative feedback to see what went wrong and what could have been done better to improve the overall service offered by the firm. Also, I helped produce their new website as part of the company's re-branding and this meant being in constant communication with the website developer. I also produced the daily costings for each job undertook by the company to show profit and loss for each job.

In this role I started of working in the offices in Luton, making calls to customers of different companies so these they were able to get feedback on the service they have provided. I was trained in and used different computer systems that were able to offer different types of surveys for GFK's customers. The last few months working for GFK NOP, I was part of a pilot scheme to work from home and worked successfully in this position until i left GFK in August 2013.
