I conducted interviews and wrote articles to highlight local businesses, artists, and events in the bi-weekly publication of Volume One Magazine. Through this experience, I gained technical journalism writing skills and I developed my own creative writing voice. This internship also helped me strengthen my communication skills, as I was in close contact with community members and site supervisors. I learned a lot about taking constructive criticism and using edit suggestions to make my writing stronger. Though this experience was structured, there was a lot of room for creativity and I enjoyed making my articles unique and enjoyable to read.
