High level experience over 20 years in legislative advocacy, lobbying, policy and budget development, with the executive and legislative branches, and state associations. As appointed Senior Advisor to the Governor: I develop and implement policies that enhance education, higher ed, workforce development, early learning, childcare, voting rights, and economic development. I work with federal, state and local elected officials, appointees, state and local agencies, and legislators to pass legislation, review program outcomes, and implement strategies to meet goals. I work with the federal government agencies and officials in other states to promote equity in education as a Commissioner on the Education Commission of the States.I am dedicated to advancing educational and economic opportunities for all.I am inherently creative, practical and innovative, with excellent listening skills. I bring a unique perspective as an immigrant from Australia with Greek heritage and through my former work as an educator, researcher, owner of a video and film company, producer of public radio and community projects.
