Managed accounts payable and receivable. Set up new processes and organizational policies, such as Divvy implementation for credit cards, a new travel policy, and BAMBOOHR for timekeeping. Created manual journal entries and year end accruals, tracked special finance projects, helped monitor cash flow, and regularly wired money abroad. Assisted with audits, budgets, financial reports, and taxes. Prepared monthly departmental budget to actual reports and answered related questions, and co-managed payroll. Served as a sub-committee head for the Justice, Equity, Decolonization and Inclusion (JEDI) committee, and served on the MINGA committee for organizational change. Supported a diverse group of cooperative owners in many aspects of crisis management, HR, evaluation, bookkeeping, conflict resolution, pandemic financial relief, and business support. Served as full-charge bookkeeper and benefit coordinator for three of the cooperatives, and supported all of the cooperatives in teaching bookkeeping, HR needs, financial planning, and budgeting. Coordinated the intra-cooperative conflict resolution team, and led conflict mediation and facilitated conversations. Coordinated three cooperative-wide retreats for 100 people each, edited and contributed articles to the Arizmendi newsletter, responded to media and community inquiries, ran payroll, received investigation training from the staff lawyer, taught workshops and candidate orientations. Supported one cooperative through a year-long closure due to fire, and helped move one bakery from financial and organizational failure to success. Created and presented annual reports, applied for and managed small and large business loans, and submitted taxes to the accountant at the end of the year. Served as Corporate Secretary on the Association-wide board, a sexual harassment investigator, and as master tenant for the shared office.

Co-created a new bookkeeping cooperative business. Facilitated consensus-based decision making. Provided bookkeeping for La Raza Centro Legal, Box Dog Bikes, Design Action Collective, and Sustainable Economies Law Center. Ran payroll and managed benefits for Design Action, and served as liaison for the accountant.

Served as corporate secretary; participated in hiring, personnel, and other elected committees; took part in consensus-based decision-making as a co-owner; helped build the business from the ground up; worked with local youth groups to provide baking lessons; worked as a baker in both the front and back of the house; and helped to create and pass various operational policies.

Created the first after school affiliate for the Edible Schoolyard in the country. Planned and constructed a 2000 square foot garden and designed an innovative curriculum for all ages. Participated in extensive community outreach within the Hunters Point community and surrounding organizations. Hired and managed a community member as a garden assistant. Led cooking, gardening, and nutrition classes for at-risk youth ages 6-18, as well as parent cooking classes. Planned large events, coordinated volunteer days, responded to media inquiries, and supervised teen staff. Ran the snack and lunch program. Received the 2009 Staff of the Year Award as well as Honorable Mention for Program Excellence.
