About Marissa V.
After receiving my B.A. in Creative Writing (May 2021) at San Francisco State University, I decided to continue my college career and pursue the M.F.A. Program in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry (August 2021-present). San Francisco State's M.F.A. program encourages cross-genre study to which I have gained extensive knowledge and practice in through volunteer teaching (GIA) and academia course prep. I have been published, worked with San Francisco State University's The Poetry Center, and am currently a staffer at SFSUs graduate-run literary magazine called Fourteen Hills. There, I work hands-on with other editorial staff and am exposed to various aspects of the publishing and literary world. I graduate May 24, 2024 with a M.F.A. degree in creative writing and am actively seeking a role in higher education.
