Pewabic Pottery is a historic 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1903, Pewabic operates numerous community outreach and education efforts throughout the metro-Detroit area. We produce pottery and offer adult education classes while striving to make ceramic art relevant and accessible to all. Duties include managing a large data pool of Pewabic Society members, donors, and Foundations using the programs DonorPerfect and NetSuite. Involves entering payments, updating contact information, data cleanup, and communicating with Board members and other donors to secure charitable gifts. Duties include working with a small team to conduct research, compose, and submit grant proposals to support Pewabic’s General Operations and Educational programming and working collaboratively with individuals from various departments at Pewabic. Additionally, duties include managing many details related to a large fundraising event held at Pewabic (as well as several smaller events) throughout the calendar year. This includes RSVPs, ticket sales, name tags, general event planning, greeting attendees, facilitating training meetings for staff, securing entertainment, and contacting local businesses to solicit monetary support. Duties also include composing and editing training materials for future and existing Pewabic employees, attending webinars, and attending and contributing to meetings.

Worked with programs REDCap, Qualtrics, Excel, Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Outlook. Duties involved entering data, managing databases, conducting confidential and sensitive psychological questionnaires with participants over the phone, and preparing mailings. Duties also involved file organization, developing plans of action for the work week, attending meetings, arranging appointments for supervisors, and training new employees.

Worked on a psychological study entitled Women’s Experiences (WE) which collected data via an online survey related to college women’s experiences with sexual and dating violence, as well as their alcohol and eating habits under the direction of Dr. Tiura. Duties included using the Qualtrics program, conducting research, having confidential phone and email conversations with study participants, working collaboratively with other student assistants including training, attending meetings, and general assisting.

Did general assisting on an as-needed basis for a busy Interior Design studio. This included organizing design books, paint samples, carpet samples, and fabric swatches in the studio’s storage department. Also included transcribing notes to clients, running errands for the studio, and general assisting.
