Hi, I am Maddie Gregory. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science here at Swinburne University. After completing my degree, I hope to take part in further study, and focus on rehabilitation for people with brain injuries, either in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. I spent some time working as a Support Worker, living with and supporting adults with mental and physical disabilities. I would help the service users in their home after having surgeries as well as attending their physiotherapy appointments with them and assisting them with rehab at home. We spent a lot of time working together on their motor skills through games and sensory activities. This role was very enriching for my sense of empathy, good communication skills with a wide range of people and my ability to work well in both teams and individually, I have also worked part time in multiple hospitality jobs since high school. Some strengths that I have gained from my time in hospitality include time management skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.I have recently completed the online St Johns WA First Aid certificate and also a certificate in Community Coaching General Principles through Sport AUS. I am very excited about my sport and exercise science degree, I’m eager to learn as much as I can and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
