This is an HR Practice working for clients on a contract / interim basis in the field of outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions, particularly in global and complex business environments. Providing specialist expertise in managing and delivering the HR activities covering the whole of the sales cycle from proposal writing through due diligence and contract negotiation to transition and operational handover. Integral to this is sensitivity to working across the diverse cultural and legal boundaries, including those created by the Acquired Rights Directive (ARD) and its local implementations such as TUPE in the UK, §613a BGB in Germany and L. 1224-1 of the French Labour Code.

The role comprised working with sales and engagement teams to manage and deliver the HR aspects of business transfers – both outsourcing (first and second generation) and acquisitions – from initial sales calls through proposal writing and presentation, pricing, due diligence, contract negotiation and transition up to hand over following the operational cutover.Key Responsibilities Leading the HR component on large and complex engagements, for both single and multi-country opportunities. Delivering the HR content, ensuring customer requirements are met and internal demands satisfied. Evaluating all HR aspects from a cost and risk perspective. Working closely with the customer and internal stakeholders across the diverse cultural and legislative requirements of many countries, both European and non-European. Directing and coaching country HR representatives and/or legal specialists, for example with regard to the Acquired Rights Directive and its local implementations such as TUPE, §613a BGB and L1224-1.

HR Programme Director within CSC’s European Business Development Division (from 1994)Reported to the Bid & Proposal Director; leading a small team of HR professionals – the Commercial HR team. This was a client-facing, project-based role with responsibility for the HR aspects of business transfers. Primarily worked with large corporate customers across many industries both within Europe and in the US, for example British Aerospace, United Distillers, Datacentralen (a Danish IT company), General Electric, DuPont, Nortel Networks, Budget Rent A Car, Schroders.Other Roles at CSC Joined CSC as a result of the acquisition of Inforem, an IT consultancy company, in 1989. Following the integration of Inforem into CSC became the HR Development Manager, responsible for HR policy, strategy and development for the UK Company. Personnel Manager at Inforem, reporting to the MD and with full responsibility for the personnel function. This was an initial ‘greenfield site’.
