I am passionate about the health care industry and assisting health care providers in their legal needs. My practice is focused on defending health care providers in medical malpractice actions and before their licensing boards. I also defend product liability cases involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. My notable experience includes the successful defense of a case of first impression interpreting a statutory immunity afforded to qualifying free clinics and health care providers, successful briefing of a motion for summary judgment on the grounds of intervening and superseding cause, and the successful defense of an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on the grounds of waiver. I also have trial experience. In addition to my work in the health care industry, I have been given the opportunity to assist in defending general negligence actions brought against corporations. I have experience evaluating cases, advising clients, and negotiating settlements with opposing counsel. Additionally, I have experience defending intentional tort cases, including complex competency and fiduciary issues.
