Responsibilities include:- Lead the design and development of advanced automatic instruments to meet specifications, costs, and deadlines, prioritising company identity and ease of assembly and service- Manage daily workflows for the mechanical design team, ensuring project priorities are met- Recruit and conduct regular reviews and appraisals for staff, providing mentoring and necessary training- Conduct design reviews for new and existing projects, driving engineering improvements- Research current and emerging technologies and propose developments for new instrumentation or integration of new technology- Oversee technical sign-off of mechanical design documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.- Collaborate with production engineering and the supply chain to facilitate a smooth transition from prototype to production- Actively participating in supplier selection.- Ensure comprehensive documentation of all designs.- Participate in Quality Management Systems, including ISO9001, ISO14001, and other relevant standards as needed.

In January we set up a political party (Residents for Guildford & Villages or R4GV) for independent candidates for the sole aim to give residents a voice in Guildford Borough Council. After a lot of hard work, 15 out of 17 candidates got elected making R4GV the second larges party in Guildford Borough Council.I am Holy Trinity ward representative at GBC. As Old Persons Champion I believe a lot of small things can make a huge difference in the older community. Integrating senior citizens into the existing community in Guildford can improve their mental & physical health.

Over a 12 week internship, I worked within the Mechanisms department focusing on the Antenna Pointing Mechanism (APM). As part of a customer contract, I was required to write a shock test procedure for a flight model APM. This required detailed research and understanding of the required test levels as to not damage the APM. For the same contract I designed an engineering model of the APM using off-the-shelf parts. This is designed to support the APM software and provide training without risking damage to the APM.

As the most experienced colleague on the department, I took on a lot of leadership responsibilities and was often the only colleague granted high level clearance. Non Client Responsibilities included cashing up, key holder to the safe, stock checks and department rosters. Inter-client responsibilities included one-to-one customer liaison and communication within a supportive team. This provided a fine environment to improve my interpersonal skills. I kept up to date with new technology releases and would often volunteer to run tuition sessions on new software such as Windows 8 and 10 to customers and new staff. Working in the customer services department for almost 4 years provided ample opportunity to develop skills in conflict resolution turning many into positive solutions.Customers were pleased when I was able to resolve their software issues and, where necessary, seamlessly book their hardware in for repair when it was not possible to effectively repair onsite. Working with faulty electrical goods furthered my knowledge in product improvements, giving me a range of design ideas which could be employed in the development of new products.
