The Online Omega System consists of stock orders, stock control, point-of-sale functions, client/debtor management functions as well as various reports and statistics. • Document the System Design, Technical Spesification and User Manual. Keep the project plan up to date using MS Project.• Facilitate user testing as part of the Y2K Project Team. • In July 2000 she joined the PC team working with the TELEform Scanning System. Maintain and enhance a custom made Visual Basic application which enables the users at all the AVBOB Life Assurance branches to scan the application forms for new assurance policies. Facilitate training of the users at the branches, compile full documentation, and assist both the users at head office and at the branches with computer related problems.• TELEform Designer was used to design new application forms and to maintain existing forms.• SQL7 was used to store the data after being verified by the users at head office. Extensive verification processes had to be put in place. Perform queries to retrieve additional data on request.• The ADABAS database has been daily updated with the data on the SQL database. Develop and maintain Natural/ADABAS programs to capture these data for new applications.

A new system had to be developed for data capturing at the accounting section of Asset & Liability Management. The Reconciliation Sub System for Data Capturing was a small, though formal project implemented early 1999 with full documentation (System Design, Technical Specifications and User Manual). • Facilitate the user training. • Performed comprehensive tests on the relevant systems when software versions were upgraded, new software was loaded and when hardware changes were made. Two of the systems were moved from the SARS mainframe to the Nucleus 4 mainframe at CCS. • Maintain the batch run JCL’s in Control-M (scheduling software used by CCS). A LAN was installed which involved a change from the Tecterm emulator to the Miracle for Windows emulator. • As member of the Y2K Project Team, perform tasks such as compiling test plans for the relevant systems, perform baseline tests to ensure that the testing environment is working properly, program changes, progress reviews and keeping a project plan (MS Project 98) up to date. • Full Documentation was done using MS Office 97.• Acquired good knowledge of PAC software (Predict Application Control) which is used to copy programming modules between environments. Set PAC events for the users to copy programs from the test to production environment.• Acquired good knowledge of the ACB (Automated Clearing Bureau) method of paying investors.

By the time that the system was user tested, Madeleine was the only programmer available with knowledge of the system. She compiled the implementation plan and prepared the various programming modules to be implemented.• She was giving the extra task to assist the Senior Data Technologist with the DBA functions including maintenance of user-id’s, passwords, authorization of functions and printers including regional offices.• Generate various statistical reports for the Department of Transport to assist them in their planning for the new driver license cards.• When the users experienced problems with downloading data from the mainframe onto PC, she acquired good knowledge of Entire Connection in solving these problems.• Full Documentation was kept up to date using MS Word.

Unisys MainframeMagnetic Tape Library• Joined Bureau Numerus in 1990 as an Assistant Computer Operator.• Completed the Computer Operators Course and promoted to Computer Operator.• After working shifts for 6 months on the Unisys Mainframe, she was moved to the magnetic tape library.• She compiled a procedure manual for the magnetic tape library and facilitate training of new computer operators. • In 1992 Bureau Numerus was moved to Bureau Beta and Bureau Nucleus. September 1992 she was moved to the magnetic tape library at Bureau Nucleus (Central Computer Services).• In 1995 she was given the opportunity to attend the entry-level programming course in COBOL at CCS.
