Paperbark's content traces the connections between science, culture, and sustainability.

Climate Change Conversations in Libraries supported a network of libraries in bringing their communities together to vision and manifest a resilient, just future. Included collaborations with Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (https://www.climatecrew.org) and Regenerate Change (https://www.regeneratechange.com/). In these times of political, economic, and social disruption, libraries endure as places of stability and life-long learning. Libraries are a “third space,” offering resources and meeting/learning spaces (usually free) that foster social connection alongside intellectual and creative activities. Libraries are well-positioned to host conversations on challenging topics such as (e.g. climate change, institutional racism), inviting all voices to the table and amplifying civic solidarity.

Designed and taught a one-month, online course for librarians and others called, "The Sustainability Movement on Campus: Forming a Library Action Plan for Engagement." Sometimes co-taught with Jamie Conklin of Duke University. The participant experience is based on a reflective process, readings, exercises and discussion forum, which connect them to the community-inspired energy that drives the sustainability movement. The course culminates in an Action Plan that matches the needs of each person's library and institution and suits their comfort level for professional involvement.

United States Agricultural Information Network is an organization for information professionals that provides a forum for discussion of agricultural issues, takes a leadership role in the formation of a national information policy as related to agriculture, makes recommendations to the National Agricultural Library on agricultural information matters, and promotes cooperation and communication among its members.
