I am a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), with a passion for the internal audit and risk management profession. I spent the past 12 years working in internal and external auditing, risk management, fraud and IT environment. As part of my duties, I manage clients and audits from start to completion, and compile reports for management, executives and the Audit and Risk Committees. My key role is to evaluate and test clients' processes, systems and operations to help improve operation efficiency, and effectiveness and identified fraud indicators. I served in a management position at the top auditing firm (PWC) in South Africa for over 5 years, as part of my responsibilities I managed clients from the initial risk assessments through to setting up their yearly audit universe and auditable engagements. The responsibilities incorporated resource management, training and coaching staff, managing clients' budgets and supporting the in-house management teams.I love what I do and strive to deliver value to clients during audit engagements and help improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. I am passionate and hardworking and have a friendly face during audits. I served in a leadership position from my first year and managed audit teams effectively providing guidance and support to team members throughout my career. I have had the opportunity to work in different countries within Africa, making me adaptable and flexible with my time and my approach to engagement accounting for cultural, legislative and operational differences as they arise. I moved to Australia in 2018 where I have continued to work within the auditing profession, expanding my knowledge and skills. My years of experience in different industries, operations and countries have broadened my knowledge and my abilities to solve problems and recommend solutions that best serve the client's needs and environment. Internal audit is an agile and ever-changing environment, each client is different and practises their approach to manage both internal and external risks impacting their business. I am a quick study and pride myself in learning and resourcing best practice approaches to serve the best interest of my client. ’m a strong believer in continuing my development and am currently in the process of obtaining my CISA accreditation by June 2023. As mentioned I am passionate about the internal auditing profession and try to keep updated through my memberships and continuously learning about new and everchanging impacts on the auditing profession.
