About Madeleine Wong

"Name 5 players besides Tom Brady on the Patriots." Every single time I've shared my love for football, since I was 5 years old, I've always been met with a test. Because of my gender, I've always been socially required to verify that I was actually a fan. While the double standard bothered me, it forced me to look discrimination in the eye. For that, I will always be thankful.I am a current pre-law fourth-year Regents and Chancellor's Scholar and Alumni Leadership Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley double majoring in Political Science and Asian American & Asian Diaspora Studies. I chose my majors because they allow me to tell my story and explore my identity.I've always been interested in the intersection between sports and social justice and I strongly believe that all platforms can and should be used for advocacy. Everyone has a story. But not everyone's story is equally heard or told. Amplify the stories of women in sports!
