“ No matter where you are from your dreams are valid”—Lupita Nyong’OBeing an immigrant and African refugee daughter has taught me that education is elevation. When I immigrated, it was a pivotal moment to grow to assimilate the American and maintain my Africa culture. A few decades later in the United States, my and family members medical operations l has changed my perception and values of life science and health and wellness.From a young age, I have met and watched a small number of women of color. These women that represent the STEM and medical community had enlightened me to be part of the representation population. While growing up, I have heard problems from women and minority communities. They have expressed their dissatisfaction with their healthcare experience. I want to advocate and approach problems by using my strengths I have. Seeking mentors and coaches in science and medicine will be helpful for me to magnetize my strength.Strength and Strategies: Analytical, Story-Telling and Consistency
