Washington University Student Associate (Wusa)
St. Louis County, Missouri, United States
I was an orientation leader and peer mentor for 20 incoming freshmen on a residential floor. I helped implement orientation activities for 5,000 students and family members. These activities allowed my ability to be a team player to flourish and remain dynamic to adapt to anything the Student Transitions and Family Programs office needed me for. I helped new students with their social, academic, and personal college transition. I lead orientation activities, including excursions around St. Louis and the university. I met with my students for two hours weekly throughout their first year at Washington University in Saint Louis. This has aided my ability to stay organized and place emphasis on being personable for the students I mentor. I received training about issues of diversity, inclusion, leadership, and facilitation.
