My name is Madeline Cicatelli. I am a graduate of the University of New Hampshire's Occupational therapy Master's program. My first exposure to the Occupational Therapy profession was while working at a therapeutic riding facility. I saw an Occupational therapist (OT) utilize the movements of a horse during a hippotherapy session. Both the client and the OT were engaged and having fun. I knew then that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Occupational therapy is a profession that would allow me to combine my interest in helping people with my love of horses. In the future, I look forward to becoming certified to treat clients using hippotherapy. Presently, I have the most experience working with older adults in the skilled nursing setting. However, I am eager to learn and gain new experiences in different settings in order to apply that knowledge to my career going forward.
