Profile bio

About Madeline Craig

I grew up hiking, climbing, sailing, and spending as much time as I possibly could outdoors. Early in my career, after studying ecology and international development, I had the incredible experience of working with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute alongside communities in central Panama to protect a crucial biological corridor. It was through this impactful work that my eyes were opened to some of the larger threats to our environment, and I knew I would dedicate my career to changing the way that humans interact with the nature we rely on. I believe that in addition to scientific research and innovation, good storytelling and communication are at the core of effective environmental work. “The best arguments in the world won't change a person's mind. The only thing that can do that is a good story.” ― Richard Powers, The OverstoryUsing my background in Environment and Development studies, I have dedicated myself to working towards a more sustainable future. I have lived and worked in DC, London, Montreal, Panama, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico City. I am fluent in Spanish, and passionate about affecting social change to decrease our impact on the environment we depend on.

Listed skills include Research, Economics, Public Speaking, Powerpoint, and 14 others.
