• Designed and managed the Bay Area Integrated Regional Water Management Disadvantaged Community and Tribal Involvement Program (DACTIP) Regional Needs Assessment Process, which supported 15 community-based, non-profit, and agency partners to develop and implement tailored water-related needs assessments in disadvantaged and underserved communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The goal of the needs assessment processes was to elevate the experiences and expertise of disadvantaged and underserved communities in planning processes and support the development of community-led solutions to holistically and equitably address issues for both people and the environment.• Led the development of a needs assessment process with over 650 people experiencing homelessness to understand current access to water for drinking, sanitation, and hygiene purposes and elevate the experiences and voice of people experiencing homelessness into water-planning processes.• Providing capacity building and grant writing support for community partners to fund projects addressing issues identified through the needs assessment process, securing over $100,000 in funding for community-led solutions.

• Managed projects, developed focus group discussion guides, conducted focus groups, collected and analyzed survey data, conducted and prepared literature reviews, drafted and edited reports, and presented research related to human dimensions of natural resource and outdoor recreation issues including:- Conducted field interviews and synthesized results for Outdoor Recreation Participation on the Suisun Marsh (2018), funded by the California Department of Water Resources to understand recreation use to inform future planning for the Suisun Marsh.- Wrote discussion guide and conducted a series of focus groups with elementary, middle school, and high school-aged youth for Youth Attitudes Toward Animal Welfare, Animal Rights, and Hunting (2017) to inform environmental education curriculum.- Wrote focus group discussion guides for Recreational Boaters and Derelict Commercial Fishing Gear (2015), conducted for BoatUS to inform outreach and educational efforts to reduce the negative ecological impacts of abandoned and lost fishing gear.

• Conducting research reviews and writing memos on a wide variety of topics related to natural resource management, social justice, conservation, and environmental sustainability to inform papers, books, and classes, as well as both academic and Park Service projects for Professor of Conservation and former Science Advisor to the Director of the U.S. National Park Service, Dr. Gary Machlis. • Conducted background research for the development of the Restoration Project, an effort led by Dr. Gary Machlis and former Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis to provide President Biden's transition team and administration a researched, curated, and prioritized list of the most critical environmental harms done by the Trump administration with recommendations for potential restorative actions for each harm.

• Led the development of a regional community-based needs assessment process and supported 12 community, non-profit, and agency partners in implementing tailored problem-definition and solutions-development processes in disadvantaged and underrepresented communities throughout the Bay Area.• Coordinated the statewide Integrated Regional Water Management DACTIP Needs Assessment & Evaluation Working Group to facilitate information and materials sharing between groups working on the DACTI Program throughout the state.• Liaised with mapping, technical, and community partners to develop collaborative data collection and mapping strategies to advance the implementation of community-led projects to address water-related issues identified by disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.• Drafted public comments to promote inclusion of environmental justice principles in State policy documents.

• Collected social science data in Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark, Vietnam to engage the population living within the Park to inform planning for regional sustainable socio-economic development and cultural heritage preservation through tourism. • Co-designed the survey instrument, managed sampling strategy, oversaw five Vietnamese research assistants conduct over 400 household surveys and 50 business surveys, analyzed data, and prepared final report for the Ministry of Construction.
