I was recently promoted into the role of Community Manager for a 450-unit apartment community in North Knoxville, which adds almost 200 more apartments to my portfolio. This role provides me with more experience in capital project management and continues to aid me in growth with budget planning, hiring and team management, and sales coordination.

As the Community Manager, I am responsible for handling all budgeting accounts, marketing planning, communication with vendors, planning side by side with my corporate office, and overseeing my staff members. Other areas of focus include reviewing income reports, processing invoices, researching our surrounding market and competition, implementing sound business practices, and developing plans for advertising.

My responsibilities in this role consisted of accounting, accepting rental payments, managing past resident accounts, sending past-due files to collections, corresponding with our attorney when necessary, assuring accounts balance on a monthly basis, as well as maintaining my previous duties as a leasing consultant (leasing apartment homes, marketing outreach, assisting in event coordination, assisting residents, etc.)

In this position, I held the responsibility of daily social media advertising, marketing outreach activities, organizing community events for residents, conducting tours and closing on the sale, maintaining the monthly goal for budgeted occupancy, and assisting in Resident conflict resolution when necessary.

My position at Whispering Pines is based heavily around guest relations and customer service. I do check-in and check-out procedures for guests, send e-mails frequently to those inquiring about our resort, and answer phone calls of potential guests. I book reservations using the Escapia Reservations system. I have worked with Excel reports, Google e-mail and Drive, and Crystal reports.

I assist customers with their questions and I offer customers the option of having us order shoes for them if we do not have them in our store. I have assisted in Inventory many times in the years I have worked with the company so I am familiar with that operation and the requirements that must be met. I help maintain cleanliness and organization in the store.

I represented the Philosophy cosmetics brand via social media posts, calling clients about upcoming sales and events, and walking around the store promoting my brand with samples. I successfully met my weekly goals for sales and Belk credit card applications. I familiarized myself with the products so I could confidently describe them to customers in person and during events.Prior to my cosmetics position, I worked for Belk as a clothing sales associate. I started in the Moderates department and moved up to the Karen Kane department. I assisted customers with concerns and questions as well as assisted them in outfit-building. I met required goals regarding the Belk store card as well as regularly met sales goals.

I assisted current and future residents in the Quarry Trail community. I answered phones, e-mails and helped coordinate events. Once a week I marketed on the UT campus to promote student housing at Quarry Trail. While marketing, I spoke with students about our community and the fun events we provide. I maintained resident files as well as their online profiles, which included payment accounts.

As an intern for a senator, I learned valuable people skills. I spoke regularly with Tennessee constituents regarding their concerns, suggestions, and issues. I assisted in opening new cases for them as well as updating constituents on their active cases.

I encouraged the sales of memberships, consulted customers with their questions and concerns prior to their appointments. I familiarized myself with specific services offered and gained medical knowledge regarding muscles and proper care/treatment for specific ailments.
