About Madeline Mace

As a social work student at Elizabethtown College, I have expanded my skill set, experienced unique opportunities, and gained confidence in my professional abilities. I am fortunate to have worked directly with clients since my freshman year. Upon graduating from Elizabethtown College, I will have completed 700 hours in the social work field at various locations. On campus, I obtained many leadership positions. I am a Peer Mentor and a Blue Jay Ambassador in the Admissions Office. Throughout my time at Elizabethtown, I was involved in the Social Work Student Association, serving as president for the 2020-2021 academic year. I am very passionate about seeing strengths in other people and working alongside them to develop their abilities and improve their circumstances. For this reason, I am most interested in working in school social work, substance abuse, or family therapy. Language and communication skills are extremely valuable, which is why I pursued two minors in Spanish and Professional Writing. I want to develop meaningful relationships with as many people as possible, and I do not want language to be a barrier. Being a good writer throughout high school, I wanted to expand my craft in college, and I did so through writing many research papers on numerous subjects, creating a short story, and planning a young adult novel.After graduation, I hope to obtain an entry-level job in the social work field and work for a year before pursuing a Master's Degree in social work.
