I have more than 5+ years of experience in industries including the literary arts and academia. After completing my bachelor's in English and taking multiple extracurriculars + positions that leveraged my passion for diversity, inclusivity, creativity, and storytelling. The following years of my career and education were spent completing a Master's in Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago. I was offered multiple opportunities including the chance to vote in the International Young Adult Writer's competition for 2 consecutive years. Not only that, but I collaborated with Allium: A Journal of Prose & Poetry as one of the assistant poetry editors, gained valuable leadership experience as the primary instructor of record for multiple undergraduate courses including Writing and Rhetoric I and Writing and Rhetoric II. Upon receiving my MFA in Creative Writing in Spring of 2023 I had multiple creative works published in both print and online. The following fall I successfully launched two projects. "Off the Page" an arts organization and initiative aimed at transforming the public's understanding of poetry by bridging gaps between the world of literary and fine arts worlds. As a co-founder, I have further developed skills of leadership, content creation, brand management, and more. "Off the Page: Poetry Reimagined" now has a competitive social media following, is in collaboration with multiple arts organizations in the Chicagoland area, and in the process of organizing readings for new and established writers, all while submitting exhibition proposals for our curatorial and literary vision. Due to my co-founding "Off the Page: Poetry Reimagined" I was able to take one of my poems "10 Steps to Drowning," collaborate with a visual media artists, and show a video installation of my poem at Columbia College Chicago's Unleashed Gala to hundreds of influential leaders and creators. Similarly, and after multiple editing, publishing, and storytelling ventures on the literary boards of others' magazine, I co-founded and launched "Unwoven" Literary Arts Magazine as the Creative Director and Poetry Editor. Our team includes a managing editor, creative nonfiction editor, a social media manager, videographer, and more. I take a leading role in establishing the mission and values of our project. While also clarifying our brand voice, target audience, and brand image to provide weekly deliverables for Unwoven's team. Unwoven's inaugural issue will be published in fall 0f 2024 with the work of new and renowned writer's across genres.
