As a program manager on PADF's Partnerships & Sustainable Finance team, I'm responsible for leading and contributing to the design and implementation of innovative programs and partnerships that aim to tackle complex social and economic development challenges throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

I support the identification, outreach, and cultivation of revenue-generating and value-added partnerships, with a focus on sustainable livelihoods and innovation related to education, employment, entrepreneurship, and the environment. This involves: - general program management efforts for strategic, foundation and/or private-sector projects, - drafting, editing, and submitting high quality concepts, grant proposals, applications, and other resource development opportunities- knowledge management efforts and supporting the development and carrying out of learning agendas

As a Program Associate, my duties fall into three general categories: Program Support, New Business Development, and Knowledge Management. The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) aims to assist vulnerable and excluded people in the Americas through promoting human development, strengthening democracy and governance, advancing justice and security, and fostering resilience.Responsibilities: • Conduct independent research of funding opportunities from the private sector andfoundations, as well as identify and research additional potential leads.• Assist in the development of strategies, plans, concept papers to support new project development activities and proposal preparation and design in close consultation with the Executive Director and other PADF senior staff.•Learn about sustainable development best practices and how to replicate these.• Draft and/or translate outreach materials that would help position PADF in the private sector and foundations’ market.• Attend relevant conferences, workshops or meetings as assigned and report on these events.• Provide input and feedback on ideas for potential opportunities to be funded by potential donors or new strategies for programs under implementation.

Results:• As a staff reporter, I interviewed students during protests after death of Freddie Gray. I investigated Israeli gay rights activist speaking on campus accused of “pinkwashing” Israel and interviewed students with opposing views on Israel and Palestine. I also co-conducted a survey on the student body’s newspaper-reading habits. • As editor-in-chief, I wrote and published series of articles about mental health on campus and coordinated a coalition with the other campus newspaper staff to investigate the college’s program prioritization program and inform the student body of its impact.• I assisted in hiring a student web designer to redesign newspaper’s website.• I led the community-driven process to add Foreign Language and Creative Writing sections to the paper and recruiting editors for these sections to increase inclusivity of content and encourrage a broader readership.• With student support, I converted the last page of the newspaper into an Events section for greater student involvement in larger Towson and Baltimore area.

The Futuro Latino Learning Center (FLLC) provides educational opportunities to the Latino community of Baltimore County.
