I worked with community-based organizations, government agencies, foundations, and researchers to conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to help further social justice efforts and campaigns. This included: • Writing reports, journal articles, book chapters, op-eds, and blog posts;• Conducting and analyzing interviews with organizations/individuals;• Writing statistical programming in SPSS to manage and analyze large datasets;• GIS mapping and analysis;• Presenting our research at meetings, conferences, and convenings; and• Managing undergraduate- and graduate-level interns and helping recruit new staff and students.

I taught Urban and Environmental Policy 101 in the Spring 2020 semester.

I designed and analyzed regression models explaining travel behavior using statistics programs (SPSS and Stata).

I wrote memos and interfaced with public employees, labor organizations, and private companies as part of research on Metro’s 30/10 procurement of railcars.

I conducted interviews with organizations/individuals and wrote regional profiles as part of a national assessment of health, environmental, and community impacts of port activity and freight transport across the U.S.

I coordinated Housing LA, a diverse coalition of community, labor, religious, business and housing organizations pushing for the City of Los Angeles to adopt policies that ensure both the production and preservation of affordable homes in LA. My duties included: • Planning and mobilizing for community actions with city council members highlighting both the housing crisis and the successes of affordable housing;• Performing a range of in-depth research and analysis around affordable housing and inclusionary zoning in Los Angeles and statewide; and• Managing an undergraduate-level intern.

As a member of the policy team, I wrote the policy briefs for our campaign’s surrogates, which included policy talking points, issue/location backgrounds, and Q&A prep. I also helped organize communities in rural Colorado to get out the vote for Barack Obama through one-on-ones, house meetings, and neighbor-to-neighbor canvassing. As part of this, I helped design, organize, and execute the program, "Solutions for Colorado,” in which community members gathered to share their stories and policy ideas with Barack Obama’s Campaign for Change staff on the ground level.
