Initiated and developed the first direct supply chain between a group of smallholder cocoa bean farmers, the environmental non-governmental organization Fundación ProPetén, and Cru Chocolate. •Managed the grant pipeline, including budget, proposal draft, and report submission for the Poverty Alleviation for Sustainable Solutions grant through the Blum Center for Developing Economies.•Developed small business strategies for a network of women chocolate-makers in Maya Q'eqchi' communities to expand to the U.S. market.•Collaborated with the ProPetén staff to organize a series of chocolate-making workshops for the Red de Mujeres women’s network by coordinating travel, agenda, and speakers.

Conducted research and reported on the social and economic impact of cacao production to support Fundación ProPetén’s environmental conservation and rural development programs.•Research Innovations Fellowship in Agriculture (RIFA) with US AID: Coordinated all aspects of the RIFA grant proposal including writing the implementation plan, submitting monthly and final reports, and identifying objectives in close coordination with Fundación ProPetén.•Conceptualized, designed, and managed a six-year longitudinal survey evaluating the social and economic impact of cacao production for 100 farming households in three Maya Q’eqchi’ communities.

Conceptualized, designed, and managed an online survey to 400 industry leaders and academics identifying opportunities for partnership in the specialty cacao supply chain.• Analyzed findings using Microsoft Excel and summarized qualitative and quantitative results.• Prepared PowerPoint presentations, two workshops, and a report summarizing statistical trends.

Led an undergraduate lab of 15 students on a socio-ecological understanding of the food system for the major in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems at UC Davis

Researched climate change modeling from a Science and Technology Studies lens.•Co-authored a report on the theoretical and political bases of land use models, supervised by Dr. Allison Loconto on the GOSAMO project “Governing by models: Soil models as instruments of governance of food security.” •Conducted network analysis of the scientific communities, and used insights to develop and implement qualitative interviews with central network actors.

Partnered with the Instituto de Ecología and the Centro Agroecológico del Café A. C. to develop a mixed-methods evaluation of coffee production on farmer wellbeing, biodiversity, and ecosystem services.•Designed a protocol for evaluating biodiversity, material and nonmaterial values, and cultural ecosystem services associated with coffee agroforestry systems.•Conducted 13 months of ethnography, surveys, and interviews with 40 coffee farming households.•Fundraised additional social engagement grant to organize three coffee workshops in rural Mexico.

Spearheaded the inaugural Stanford Coffee Symposium in partnership with the Walbot Lab.•Secured funding to host an exchange for representatives from Mexico to attend the conference, and organized three days of professional exchange with Bay Area coffee companies.•Invited 5 of the 10 keynote speakers, recruited and managed 10 student volunteers to support logistics.

Supported the Faculty and Executive Directors with expanding the Center’s research and teaching within the areas of environment and energy; western governance and policy; and history and culture.•Managed summer internship program and student research assistants within the City Nature and State Environmental Regulation Projects.•Planned and led Stanford to the Sea, a 22-mile hike with panel discussions surrounding the relation of public to private lands, including land use and planning, public lands management and conservation, and the ecology of local coastal ecosystems.•Led a dozen undergraduates on the field-based seminar “People, Land, and Water in the Heart of the West,” co-taught by Professors David Freyberg and David M.
