I convene partners across the Greater Cincinnati Region to share information and to collaborate on advocacy and program work, as members of the Food Policy Council. I leverage data, communications, and funding to direct and monitor our collective impact toward our vision of a resilient regional food system. I collaborate with my colleagues in Green Umbrella to align our work for maximum effect as our Regional Climate Collaborative.

I managed the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of our Food Policy Council and helped organizational partners collect and share research and stories on the regional food system.The Food Policy Council focuses on social, environmental, and economic resilience in our regional food system. We serve a ten-county region in OH (Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, Warren), KY (Boone, Campbell, Kenton, Grant), and IN (Franklin, Dearborn), and we work with statewide and national programs, too.

I contributed to product development through market research, competitor analysis, regulatory registration, grant applications, pilot testing, and customer/user research.I collaborated with a team of experienced instructional designers and product managers to plan and create professional training content for corporate clients.I also managed files and created documents for diverse accounts.

I was hand-selected for one of the first cohorts on this special team of the Indiana Contact Tracing Project with Indiana State Department of Health. I collected and confirmed critical information on COVID-19 cases involving institutions and collaborated with school and facility administrators in these tasks. I managed large data sets and transformed them to meet agency standards across various platforms. My team conducted research and created new systems to increase project efficiency and data integrity. I also designed instruction for and led peer onboarding and training on these systems.

As a contact tracer for the Indiana State Department of Health's (ISDH) COVID-19 response program, I interviewed thousands of residents exposed to or infected with the novel coronavirus. I worked with them to collect important information and share guidance and resources, maintaining their data in compliance with federal and agency standards. This work helped us limit the spread of the virus in Indiana communities.

I developed and taught 2 cultural anthropology courses (40 students), communicating complex concepts simply to undergraduate non-majors and training them in research skills. I worked with student-athletes and international students, and helped students plan summer research. I created and managed an organized learning space on the learning management system and moved completely online halfway through.

South Bend, Indiana Area

I taught 2 courses and 60-80 students per semester, working with many first-generation, part-time, and non-traditional students. I assessed approx. 700 pages of student work per semester and designed introductory and upper-level courses, many as part of the general education curriculum. Online teaching Mar.-May 2020.HIGHLIGHTS:-I brought in expert guest speakers and incorporated public engagement and professionalization activities in my upper-level courses every semester. With students and local partners, I hosted a community-and-campus event to generate international public health resources.-I mentored student leaders as the faculty adviser for the Anthropological Society of IUSB.-I completed programs offered through the University Center of Excellence in Teaching, including 5 semester-long institutes (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, online course design, open-access resources, creative grading, and teaching first-years) and 3 semester-long book clubs. I collaborated with the directors and another fellow to build the programming, institutional brand identity, and outreach of the newly-established campus center.HIGHLIGHTS:-redesigned the newsletter, managed and updated it weekly with new content, using MailChimp-managed, added to the contact list of supporters and members-created a library system using Libib and managed the book and media collections-maintained and circulated notes from weekly meetings, records of events, important institutional information-created and managed content for institutional social media accounts, including on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter-planned and executed special events and regular programming (graduate student lunches with guest speakers, open house events, lecture series by professors and researchers, cooking events, and workshops)-liaised with fiscal officer to complete reimbursement requests and supply orders through University system-worked with a colleague to plan, create, and manage content on website-held weekly office hours to welcome visitors and facilitate activities-interviewed food experts in recurring guest segment on local radio/podcast _Earth Eats_

Greater Madurai Area

For my PhD dissertation I researched women's perspectives on the changing local food culture in Madurai, which is a city in Tamil Nadu, India. I specifically focused on efforts to promote traditional foods as healthy and sustainable during my 14 months of field research.HIGHLIGHTS-I partnered with DHAN Foundation, an NGO, to identify food-related challenges the members of their women's groups were facing and to devise some possible solutions. I utilized interview and survey methods with 60 group members in villages and urban neighborhoods.-I performed pile sort research, cultural domain analysis, and semi-structured interview with 60 college students.-I conducted focus groups, interviews, and participant observation with business owners, development experts, doctors, and various types of consumers.-I competed to secure funding from my university, the Mellon Foundation, and the Fulbright Foundation and managed all parts of the project, including participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis.-I shared my findings with research participants in reports and presentations, with other scholars in research publications and conference presentations, with students in my teaching, and non-specialists through public presentations, 3-Minute Thesis competitions, and web content.

Greater Philadelphia Area

I recruited participants and conducted 30+ interviews on neighborhood values and social and ecological assets in Philadelphia with community group leaders. I worked with a multi-city team of researchers to manage and report on data for the Bloomington Urban Forestry Research Group (BUFRG)'s project called "Evaluating the Outcomes of Neighborhood Urban Forestry." The primary investigators of this USDA NUCFAC grant-supported, mixed methods project published on the outcomes.
