I'm an associate in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in the patents and innovation practice. In my patent work, I focus on patent prosecution, portfolio management, and due diligence matters in the fields of medical devices and imaging, optics and spectroscopy, mechanical devices, and software. Prior to joining the firm, I was a research fellow at Princeton University, where my research focused on quantum coherence and charge localization in artificial light harvesting materials, including organic and polymeric semiconductors and perovskites. During my doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley, my research focused on the relaxation dynamics of solvated electrons in liquid microjets. As part of my doctoral work, I designed and built optical assemblies and spectroscopic instrumentation.

Listed skills include Spectroscopy, Teaching, Laser Physics, Statistics, and 5 others.

Cifar Bio-Inspired Solar Energy Program - Postdoctoral Fellow

Princeton, Nj, Us

As a Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) Post-Doctoral Fellow within the Bio-Inspired Solar Energy program, I studied the role of quantum coherence in artificial light harvesting materials including organic and polymeric semiconductors and perovskites under the joint supervision of Greg Scholes (Chemistry, Princeton, USA), Edward Sargent (Electrical and Computer Engineering, U Toronto, Canada), Karl Leo (Integrated Center for Applied Physics and Photonics, TU Dresden, Germany), and Mario LeClerc (Laboratory of Electroactive and Photoactive Polymers, Laval, Canada).

Graduate Student Researcher

Berkeley, Ca, Us

Advisor: Daniel NeumarkProjects:1. Time Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Solvated Electrons-Studies of the simplest quantum solute, the solvated electron, form the basis for understanding the fundamental nature of solute-solvent interaction. As part of this work, I conclusively demonstrated the relaxation mechanism of the hydrated electron, resolving a long standing controversy in the field. This led to a publication in Science magazine.2. Dynamics of Electron Attachment to Nucleic Acid Components-Free electrons in water are a cause of light induced single and double DNA strand breaks. I studied the diffusive attachment dynamics of solvated electrons to the building blocks of DNA.3. Attosecond Streaking of Ultrafast Electron Dynamics in Liquid Water-Under extreme ultraviolet irradiation, novel ionization channels of water are opened which occur on previously unmeasurable timescales. I was responsible for initial design work for a liquid jet photoelectron spectrometer to couple to an existing attosecond source. This project is part of a multi-national collaboration dedicated to studying attosecond electron dynamics in condensed matter.
