About Madeline Lester
Madeline Lester is a Associate Producer at ABC News. She possess expertise in journalism, editing, newspapers, copy editing, social media and 12 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Madeline Lester has to be one of the hardest-working associate producers I’ve ever encountered. Not only does she put her head down and immediately get to business, Madeline is always striving to do better. She is inquisitive, dedicated, professional and instills trust in those who work with her. In one breaking news situation in particular, Madeline was the first to spot something wrong and she immediately drew my attention to the event. From that point on, I called on her to help get resources in place for breaking news. Madeline carried out every task I assigned flawlessly and with grace. If Madeline needed extra context or instruction, she wasn’t afraid to ask questions and she was eager to take on more responsibilities. If Madeline saw something wrong or if she felt something was off, she wasn’t afraid to voice her concerns. I believe Madeline will be an asset to any team that she joins. Her work ethic and dedication are truly unmatched. Stephanie Pawlowski" and "My name is Tushar Saxena former AM Assignment Editor of Fox News Radio for more than 14 years and now with CBS Radio network as their AM Desk Manager. I had the privilege of getting to work with and mentor Madeline Lester in a supervisory capacity in the early part of her career as a Production Assistant within the radio division. Her aptitude for the position and her eagerness to learn were what impressed me from the beginning. Madeline proved to be a very good writer from the outset, with a keen eye to understand key issues of any given assignment in the form of crisp and sharp prose. Her audio editing skills were sharp right from the get-go. After some basic instruction from me and other senior members of the audio newsgathering desk, Madeline was able to work independently, with increased speed and accuracy as her confidence grew. As Madeline's career continued to advance within the radio division she became an invaluable contributing member of the morning audio newsgathering desk as well as frequent contributor to the morning editorial process where she would contribute stories of an "off-beat" nature or from a perspective unique to what might interest younger listeners. Personally, I began to rely upon Madeline's ability as one of the "senior" P-A's in the room to conduct most of the training of newly hired Production Assistants and College Associates. Her responsibilities would include a proper orientation in the production and editorial methodology for all PA's and CA's, as well as overseeing the immediate semester progression for all College Associates assigned to the audio newsgathering desk. During covid I came to rely upon Madeline to help maintain the high standard of excellence that had become the staple of the audio newsgathering desk. She continued to deliver high quality, top notch scripts and audio, all while working from home...like so many of were during that time. In fact during the bulk of 2020 and 2021 when so many of us were working from home our production output did not decrease one iota, instead it more than doubled. That increase in production and the quality of that product is directly attributable to Madeline and her fellow P-A's. In short, what I am saying is that Madeline Lester would an enormous asset for your organization in any capacity that you see fit. I am certain that she will thrive and exceed all expectations put before her. If anyone has any questions they would like to ask me directly about Madeline, I would be more than happy to answer them. Please feel free to contact me through LinkedIn."
