I served as the president of my on-campus residency of roughly 80 people for my last two years of college. I assumed the presidency during the COVID-19 pandemic when our college announced our semester would be online, and led the house as an entirely remote house community, a combination of remote and in-person community members, and then as an in-person house community, and each of these stages has posed unique challenges for leadership. During this time, I:• conducted biweekly meetings of the house for activities such as meditation, movie nights, and crafts (when remote)• hosted in-person gatherings for important policy meetings, team- and community-building exercises, and house traditions• organised sessions and trainings from outside experts on various topics• developed contingency plans for scenarios involving quarantined house members and college COVID guidelines• established connections with all members of the house and conducted informal check-ins with all new students to ensure they were adjusting to college and help them find the resources they need• led weekly house council meetings and developed meeting agendas• developed planning and tracking sheets for multi-person planning of larger-scale events to ensure deadlines were met, all required aspects were completed, and people were held accountable for their responsibilities

HSC 211 Perspectives in the History of Science: PandemicsThe goal of this course is to explore how our conceptions of science, medicine, disease and the environment affect the approaches we employ, which will be done by combining the history of science, history of medicine, environmental history, the history and philosophy of technology, and history and philosophy of the body. My role as a pedagogical partner is similar to a teaching assistant-- facilitating discussion amongst students, hosting office hours, and working on smaller group projects with the students-- but also involves helping to create the course's syllabus, assignments, evaluation frameworks, and revising these throughout the semester.

As an intern in GAO's Physical Infrastructure team, I:• reviewed large datasets of both annual and accident report data in order to develop the team's data analysis plan (and was commended on the plan's quality) and then conducted the analyses on these data sets. • helped draft our interview selection methodology, which outlined how different stakeholders would be selected from the results of my analyses. • developed a tracking sheet for the stakeholder interviews and then conducted outreach to schedule interviews. • led and wrote-up interviews with both internal and external stakeholders.• led several of the team's meetings with the engagement's director and supervisor.• completed additional programs such as PivotTable training, conducting effective interviews, and how to design an engagement.

My work focused on voter outreach through phone banking and in-person canvassing, as well as leading training sessions for volunteers on how to phone bank with us. I also worked to persuade undecided voters and encourage registered voters to vote in the 2020 elections, and then during GOTV I recruited poll reporters to observe the ballot counting and report back to the campaign, and also did this myself.

I worked remotely as a campaign intern leading up to the election. My responsibilities included donor research, campaign calling, and turf-cutting for canvassing.

I helped conduct pedagogical research by reviewing a subset of education research journals and model assignments to help discern core principles and common priorities in a variety of assignment styles. I provided my perspective in thinking through the clarity, fit, and interest in different writing assignment models, and worked together with Melissa Yates to find research on assessment of learning goals in these new writing contexts, common pitfalls or problems covered in teaching journals, and models of parallel college writing programs with public facing components. My work cumulated in creating a shared portfolio of assignments to present to the department at the end of the Fall 2019 semester.
