• Manage the annual Medicare Supplement plans’ rate action for more than 10 plans by conducting competitiveness analysis, region expansion strategies, and age slope smoothing for the least member disruption. Present rate increase strategies and recommendations to leadership in order to achieve OI goals and best member experience.• Revamped monthly financial reconciliation process of off-system vendor data by collaborating with vendor contact and IT to devise a standardized data template and integrate it into a SAS database. Achieved a significant improvement by saving the team 5 hours of manual data processing each month.• Developed and implemented a robust methodology for accruing monthly Part D subsidies, leveraging expertise in pharmacy trend analysis and forecasting to achieve greater accuracy and precision in subsidy calculations. This resulted in a significant reduction in the need for restatements and true-ups, enabling more streamlined financial processes and greater confidence in month-end accrual.• Supervise and provide guidance to a junior analyst in project management, including delegating tasks, setting project goals and timelines, monitoring progress, and ensuring successful project completion within schedule constraints.• Create monthly gross margin reports, analyze variance to maintain accurate financial outlook, and present findings to leadership in monthly meetings. • Project cost of healthcare and revenue for senior consumer products by updating forecast models and incorporating business strategies into model assumptions. • Prepare and update base period data for the Medicare bids and reconcile them to financials to ensure data accuracy in the bid process. • Efficiently extract large amounts of data across multiple databases using SQL to summarize claims amount and utilization in a comprehensive monthly Medicare Advantage performance report.• Research and monitor current and historical healthcare spending and utilization to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to establish reasonable assumptions for trend adjustment factors.• Assist the actuarial team with Ancillary benefits pricing by making utilization projections for the Medicare bid to ensure profitability.
