Madelyn Harvey is an environmental scientist that specializes in the aquatic botany of south Texas.She graduated with honors from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi with an undergraduate in environmental science with an emphasis in coastal resource management and conservation. While in this program she led a project with the Texas A&M Coastal Ecology and Genetics Lab studying the survival of black mangroves throughout the Corpus Christi Bay, and was recognized by the International Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation in 2019 for the presentation of this work. She earned a Master's degree in ecology from the University of Texas in San Antonio, assisting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s San Marcos Aquatic Resources Center with the conservation and reintroduction of endangered species.Most recently she interned with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, gaining experience within multiple departments conducting both human health risk assessments and environmental impact statements. Dedicated to the future of environmental science, Madelyn is passionate about optimizing the effectiveness of legal conservation efforts on the ecological recovery of ecosystems at risk while facilitating the essential education of affected communities.
