Growing up, I loved the idea of being a teacher, but also was interested in business. My dream was to combine my love of both; however, I did not know how these two fields could intersect. I decided to pursue teaching first and earned my bachelor’s in Elementary Education and became a licensed teacher in the State of Kansas. I loved teaching, but I realized my true passion was working with college students. I earned my master’s in Higher Education Administration. I had the opportunity to work as a Graduate Assistant Academic Advisor at the University of Kansas and a Learning Assistant supporting Division I student-athletes with Kansas Athletics. In April 2019, I saw the opportunity to intersect my passion for education and business. I became an Academic Advisor in the KU School of Business in June 2019 and was promoted to Senior Academic Advisor in January 2021. Working with business students, having the opportunity to teach BUS 110 and BUS 120, and collaborating with business faculty and staff, further cultivated my love for business. This catapulted me into pursuing my MBA as a part-time student in the fall of 2021 with anticipated graduation in May 2025.
