I work with businesses and organizations on developing and implementing mindful content, engagement, and social media strategies that tell stories about their mission and work, build staff capacity, conduct public outreach, promote causes and events, and nurture online communities. While working with clients, I draw on my meditation, Reiki, and yoga training to provide project management and trainings that teach mindfulness tools to reduce stress and absenteeism, build capacity, improve staff morale and productivity, and increase time management.I speak on career reinvention, creativity, mindfulness, social media, wellness, and storytelling at conferences and events sponsored by AT&T, Automattic (WordPress), Black Bloggers Connect, Blogalicious, BlogHer, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Executive Women International, Howard University, Latinos in Social Media, Nonprofit Technology Network, Serve DC, Spelman College, and the YWCA USA. By providing accountability, action planning, mindfulness tips and tools, goal setting, networking and relationship building strategies and support, project management, resource development, and social media training, I help clients expand their capacity to express their gifts and talents, serve their customers and audience with confidence, and generate revenue.Drawing on my creative writing and digital communications skills, I penned and successfully implemented social media strategies for three Amazon.com books: "Love’s Troubadours" (yoga-inspired novel), "That Which Awakens Me" (creative memoir), and "Digital Sisterhood" (social media and technology memoir).

When I completed my 200-hour training at Flow Yoga Center in 2006, I started teaching office and gentle yoga to help individuals cultivate awareness, balance, and calm in their daily lives. I was certified as a Reiki Master Practitioner by Reiki Lotus Healing in 2007. I have taught breathing exercises, mindfulness meditation, office yoga, self-care practices, and wellness at events sponsored by Blogalicious, Blogging While Brown, BlogHer, DC Digital Capital Week, Howard University AT&T Hackathon, Latinos in Social Media, and She’s Geeky. In addition, I facilitated yoga and writing workshops at the Sacred Circles Conferences held at the Washington National Cathedral and Breast Cancer Support Groups at Holy Cross Hospital.

I oversee content development, digital storytelling campaigns, online community engagement, podcasting, social media strategy, and video production. I also conduct weekly wellness trainings that include breathing exercises, mindfulness meditation, and office yoga.

Since 2010, I have worked with wounded warrior patients living with post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries, military personnel, veterans, military family members, and hospital staff on creative projects that include collage with leather, poetry, and six-word memoirs; pencil, crayon, and marker drawings; mixed media wire sculptures; model magic clay sculptures; and watercolor paintings at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. 2010-presentAccomplishments:From 2003 to 2009, I worked at Howard University Hospital with staff and patients living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other health challenges on creative projects that include mixed media collage with fabric, leather, poetry, and six-word memoirs; colored pencil, crayon, and marker drawings; mixed media wire sculptures with fabric, found objects, and jewelry; model magic clay sculptures; and gouache, tempera and watercolor paintings. Tapping into my public speaking skills, I facilitated expressive arts workshops for breast cancer survivor groups at Holy Cross Hospital and conferences sponsored by the Washington Cancer Institute from 2003 to 2009.In addition, I have presented best practices about the artist-in-residence program at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's National Summit: Arts, Health, and Well-Being Across the Military Continuum (2013) and the Society for the Arts in Healthcare Conference in Chicago, Illinois (2006) and Alberta, Canada (2007).

As the Senior Program Officer, I oversaw the Preferred Communities (PC) Program that supported 21 affiliate agencies in offering newly arrived refugees excellent opportunities to achieve economic and social self-sufficiency, and engaging local community organizations, employers, residents, and service providers in becoming active participants in the newcomers’ integration from 2003 to 2013.Accomplishments:Due to my grant management and writing skills, project management expertise, and financial budget training, I secured over $7 million in PC funding and served as the primary contact while managing the grant submission and reporting process for 4 grants from the Office of Refugee Resettlement, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.Charged with identifying and implementing cost-effective measures that would support affiliate agencies, I designed and managed USCRI's first-ever social media technical assistance and training program. My efforts revolutionized the organizational culture of over 25 affiliate agencies by providing oversight and review of social media plans, social media strategy and training sessions, best practices documentation, peer-to-peer learning exchanges, annual funding for technology tools, and a SharePoint resource library.Utilizing my previous management experience, I supervised, coached, mentored, and trained 21 PC Program Coordinators (remotely) and 3 Program Assistants (on-site). When I was first hired as a Program Officer in 1999, I oversaw USCRI's Training Center for four years. During my tenure, I prepared training agendas and curriculum, managed conference and meeting budgets, identified and recruited keynote speakers and presenters, conducted the meeting space selection process, negotiated and executed meeting space and hotel contracts, and led planning committee of 10 staff members for 5 staff retreats, 6 annual conferences, and 14 regional trainings.

As a Business Consultant, I conducted trademark searches, provided analysis on search results, and made final recommendations to clients. Also, I prepared copyright registration and domain reservation applications In addition, I provided legal disclaimer language for web sites, products, and services.

Hamilton Securities Group, Inc. was a mission-driven investment bank and financial software firm that represented the Federal Housing Administration and launched a data servicing startup in public housing in Washington, DC.My Hamilton experience opened the door to my passion working for all things digital, Internet, and technology! While I worked there, I spearheaded the design and implementation of the firm’s intellectual property protection and contracts administration programs for Internet products and services. My expertise in these areas allowed me to serve as a team member on community venture capital transactions in underserved communities. Also, I built, maintained, and conducted team trainings on intellectual property, Internet promotions and privacy. I also worked as the Knowledge Manager for e.villages, Hamilton's data servicing startup in public housing. In this role, I created, curated, and maintained content for an intranet which housed information, resources, tools, and best practices on community development, economic self-sufficiency, employment, financial literacy, housing, life skills management, micro-enterprises, and welfare reform. In addition, I served as the Project Manager and led the transaction team responsible for a $7 billion Federal Housing Administration mortgage loan sales transaction.

As Debt Manager, I managed the general obligation bond program by overseeing financial transactions ranging from $200 to $490 million. I prepared legislation authorizing financial transactions. Also, I developed and negotiated contracts and request for proposals for bond counsel, financial advisory, and underwriter services.

As a Research Associate, I conducted research and prepared reports on diversity training issues.

As a Law Clerk, I conducted legal research and prepared opinions on administrative enforcement cases brought in the CFTC's Reparations program.
