As a neuroscience researcher, my laboratory focuses on targeting glial cells in the brain in obesity and aging. Sympathetic nerve overactivity (Fight or flight response to stress) originating from specific regions within the brainstem increases cardiovascular risk such as hypertension and/or heart diseases. Understanding the role glia (microglia and astrocytes) plays in contributing to sympathoexcitation is critical to prevent or treat of cardiovascular diseases. As a Veterinary educator, my aim is to bring innovation in teaching Veterinary Anatomy. My vision is to improve the way students learn, understand, and retain clinically relevant information by making it engaging, hands-on, and an active learning experience using both media and technology. I'm excited about the potential possibilities of personalized case-based learning opportunities through using artificial intelligence (AI).As a founder of QKIRA, I'm thrilled to bring short video summaries of research articles from around the globe in the field of neuroscience.
