As a real estate agent, I serve as the conduit through which all client transactions take place. For new clients, I must quickly learn their schedules, budgets, and desires. I mediate interactions with potential buyers or sellers, I facilitate financing, and I conduct market data analytical surveys. This has allowed me to develop not only my organizational and management skills, but also my interpersonal and networking skills. I get to work with all kinds of people, and I truly believe that my time as a real estate agent has made me a more competent, compassionate, and communicative person all around—especially when it comes to customer service.

As a trained cosmetologist, I am well versed in human anatomy and physiology, especially when it comes to skin and hair chemistry. This helps me keep up to date on a variety of medical terminologies, and it also helps me better understand how to help my clients. I always say that cosmetology is 30% science, 10% skill, and 60% customer service. Indeed, cosmetology helped me realize my passion for working with people, and I am grateful for my long-term clients. As a cosmetologist, I have had to learn how to accept direct criticism, adapt to ever-changing client needs, and develop long-lasting and fruitful client relationships.

As a reservations and customer service agent, all of my interactions with our customers happened over the phone, or via email. Because of this, I had to learn how to create productive relationships with our customers remotely. Air travel can be a very high stressenvironment for many customers, and I was often responsible for de-escalating tension and solving difficult problems. I took my responsibility as an agent very seriously, and I strove to ensure that each customer I interacted with left feeling understood and heard. My time with delta vastly improved my customer service skills, especially in the context of remote interactions.

I worked on the Cardiovascular-Neurology Unit at Dixie Regional as well as the Surgical Center at The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital. Both were extremely high-stakes and fast paced units that demanded patience, dedication, and knowledge of the field. In this position, I became well-versed in medical biology, ranging from cardiovascular and neurological physiology to physical therapy and surgery recovery. Perhaps most importantly, I was often the front line for patientcare. This required compassion, sensitivity, and discretion. Though I left my work as a CNA to start my family, I will always be grateful for the opportunities I had to genuinely improve the lives of others.

This was my first time working as a CNA, and I learned so much about patient care. As a psychiatric facility, our patients required extensive care, and they depended on my knowledge and understanding of their physical as well as emotional needs. It was here that I developed my passion for helping people, and I became intent on a career in the health services industry.
