CHS is an unaffiliated Jewish congregation in Northern Colorado. It was founded in 1976 and currently has about 175 member units. We have an active Religious School with about 100 children in attendance and a Montessori style preschool that is always full with a waiting list. Our staff consists of a full time rabbinic position job shared by Rabbi Shoshana Leis and Rabbi Ben Newman, office administrator, office helper, school Directors and teaching staff, Facilities Superintendent, and janitor. In addition to serving in the presidential positions (chair-elect, president and past president), I have served as Member-At-Large; VP of Membership; VP of Ritual; VP of Admin, chair of Dues Review committee. Currently I am serving as VP Membership.

As President of the board of directors I was responsible for both the daily operations of the organization, as well as for strategic planning and execution. Since CHS does not have an Executive Director, the position of President fills that role. Accomplishments:• Revitalized and re-energized Har Shalom’s BOD by introducing new and effective coaching and group facilitation techniques. These changes significantly improved the BOD members’ satisfaction and retention rates, improved the performance of the board, and created new energies in the whole community.• Successfully passed changes to the bylaws by congregational vote, including changing the BOD elective process and changing the tenure of president to a president-elect, president and past president format.• Organized and held 3 leadership retreats where both a sense of team was reinforced and where practical issues were solved, such as deciding how to allow non-members to attend Religious School.• Introduced a part time facilities position to help day to day operations at CHS and not create undue burden on the volunteer VP facilities position.• Met fundraising goals for keeping on budget.• Facilitated solutions to several HR problems that arose during tenure.• Wrote monthly articles to congregation, and talks for High Holy Days.

At Front Range Community College I taught basic college math classes. I also tutored students both individually and in a tutoring lab setting, in Math and a variety of additional subjects based on the school's needs. Students I tutored were uniformly successful in their classes as a result of my help.
