Registered Dietitian To BeI am Madi Lemons, I have always been fascinated by the industry of nutrition and interested in the intuitive eating mindset. This side of nutrition attempts to close the gap between the anti-dieting movement and the community of those who use medicine to lose weight. Instead of concentrating on the biology of starvation, it focuses on nurturing the body. My interest in this field is stemmed from personal experience and wanting to innovate ways to improve the stigma around diet culture. I was admitted to Florida State University to earn a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Dietetics. During my time at FSU, I am serving as a member of the Big Bend AHEC scholars that is a part of a national program offering experience to students that will be entering certain healthcare professions; I am also on the leadership board for two organizations; Healthy Noles and the Student Dietetics Association. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2023 from the University of South Florida earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. With knowledge of public health gained during my time at the University of South Florida, it will allow me to excel in the field of nutrition. Being a part of the Health Scholars program at USF, I was able to make connections with people from many different fields to help incorporate different aspects into future work. I am eager to join the nutrition field and improve the culture surrounding how to nourish the body.
