I was trained on five different stations in the kitchen and helped provide breakfast and lunch to 120 residents while adhering to the mealtime schedule. My duties included reading meal tickets and assembling trays while following strict dietary restrictions, crafting made-to-order sandwiches and salads, delivering meal carts to three care units, and fulfilling snack/beverage restock orders for the nurses' stations. Additionally, I was responsible for completing daily cleaning tasks as assigned and operating the dishwashing machine.I was also cross-trained as a server at the Terraces at Brookmeade, where I served breakfast and lunch to residents in a "restaurant style" dining room. I would take orders, enter it into the computer system, communicate any questions or special requests to the cook, and serve the residents at their table - all while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. I enjoyed getting to interact with the residents, and I was soon able to learn their habits and anticipate their needs.

I worked as a front desk agent at our reception's desk, so I was constantly interacting with the public. I developed an extensive knowledge about all fourteen buildings on the hotel's three properties, including room style, accommodations, and historical facts. By having a deep understanding of the different rooms, I was able to provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and making room recommendations during the reservation process. In addition to making reservations, I answered phone calls, checked guests in and out, and updated the housekeeping team when a room was vacated in order to help them stay on schedule. When tending to guests, I made sure that their needs were met during the full duration of their stay. I would fix minor room issues after our maintenance and housekeeping teams went home, and also occasionally stepped in as a hostess in our tavern when the restaurant staff needed an extra hand.

Walkway Over The Hudson, Poughkeepsie, Ny

The Walkway Over the Hudson is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world and attracts about 500,000 tourists each year. During my time at the bridge, I worked both individually and with my coworkers to preserve the grounds by doing routine and seasonal cleanup, regardless of the weather. We interacted with the public, answered questions, and enforced the park rules in a professional manner. I also regularly drove company vehicles and assisted with minor repairs to the deck, in which I learned how to safely use handheld power tools. Public safety was always top priority. Through the Walkway, I became CPR certified and attended a basic first aid training course. I also assisted during large public events by setting up proper signage and cones beforehand, as well as performing crowd control.
