As a dedicated and passionate student in the field of art history and museum studies, I thrive at the intersection of thoughtful exhibition design, historical research, and educational programming. My recent experiences reflect a deep commitment to enriching cultural understanding and enhancing public engagement with the visual arts and historic sites.As part of my coursework at Florida State University, I was involved with the Museum of Fine Arts, where I contributed to the Art of Persistence Exhibition as a member of the design team. This role allowed me to leverage my skills in both online and in-person exhibition design to present Indigenous Southwestern artistic practices in well-researched and compelling ways.I have presented at the Comparative Literature Undergraduate Symposium at the University of California, Berkeley. My paper, “Weaving is Resistance: Analyzing Eastern Band Cherokee Basket Weaving,” explores the intersection of Eastern Band Cherokee basket weaving, ecology, cultural heritage, and reclamation, highlighting my dedication to interdisciplinary research and cultural preservation.My role as a Site Historian and Curatorial Intern at Mission San Luis was instrumental in optimizing inventory management systems and enhancing educational programming. Through my improvements to the efficiency of wardrobe and library inventory using PastPerfect5, managing accessioning processes, and facilitating engaging tours and events, I have gained invaluable experience in museum operations and Florida history.With a strong foundation in historical research, exhibition design, and educational outreach, I am eager to continue contributing to the arts and cultural heritage sector.
