Spirit Teams Operations Member
As a member of UF's Spirit Teams Operations Unit, I assist the University Spirit Squads in enhancing the UF experience for students and faculty. We cooperate with Gator Sports Properties (GSP) to host events and provide hospitality for current university partners. Additionally, we attend campus and various sporting events to strengthen fan engagement and involvement in the university.
Peer Mentor For Egm2511 (Engineering Mechanics: Statics)
As a Peer Mentor, I attend weekly recitation periods where I support students in solving statics problems and understanding key concepts. Additionally, I hold scheduled office hours to provide further assistance outside of the dedicated class time where I can offer extra advice on recitations and utilizing MATLAB for computational work pertaining to exploring statically determinate structures.
Sales Operations Intern
During my time under the Gas Services Department, I sourced and visualized data to support our Sales Team. By compiling historical data pertaining to our gas turbines and customer contracts, I built datasets and created interactive tools that can be utilized by Large Power and Small Power teams across multiple regions.
Internal Affairs Director
I lead a committee of 9 first-year engineering students to guide them in planning engaging social events for the organization. As a committee, our goal is to foster a sense of community, encourage professional growth through fellowship, and promote collaboration and empowerment within the organization. As a director, I am also responsible for fundraising and managing a budget for our member retreats.
Internal Affairs Ambassador
I served on the Internal Affairs Committee as a freshman engineering student. Working with a team of 10 driven peers, we planned and executed a total of eleven events including an end-of-the-year banquet and Spring Retreat. The Internal Committee’s goal is to integrate new members into an inclusive and active community which encourages strong connectivity among all members. Internal Affairs fosters relationships as peers, mentors, and friends that last beyond membership. In this community, members turn to one another for support, guidance and camaraderie.
Digital Operations Advisor And Marketing Consultant (Intern)
I launched the digital marketing campaign for DRS in September of 2019. In the construction and home improvement industry, it is uncommon for companies to have a strong presence online, leaving a gap in connecting customers to service providers. I developed my skills as a photographer and videographer to meet the new target audience and bridge the gap in marketing strategies. As younger generations become homeowners, the target audience shifts and thus should advertisements to reach the new consumer demographic. Through my work on the Instagram platform, the company has seen significant growth in residential contracts while maintaining commercial work.
Audiovisual Editor
I directed and storyboarded the filming of a home repipe for Emerald Plumbing. Using video and voiceover content, I created a customer education piece for the company’s website in addition to a customer testimonial piece to showcase the company from a consumer lens.
Consulting Intern
I formatted data and calculations to be sent to clients, identified missing data for information requests, drafted Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) reports for multiple stations and substations, and organized data to be submitted for Title V emission reporting. Additionally, I composed a scheduling spreadsheet to maximize work efficiency and prioritize projects based on specified criteria.
Robotics Club President
I managed fundraising, budgeting, materials, competition fees, and other financial expenses. Over my year of presidency, I acquired sponsorships and grants from companies amounting to over $8,000. This money was used to invest in newer generation electronics, aluminum parts, and offset the expenses of competing at the VEX World Competition. Additionally, I directed the social media, community outreach, and club dynamics. My team (32792B) won the local qualifying competition (Apopka, FL) and was invited to compete at the state level (Mineola, FL), national level (Council Bluffs, IA), and international level (Dallas, TX) of the 2022 VEX Robotics Competition: Tipping Point.
Robotics Club Member (Builder)
I designed, built, and competed a robot in the 2021 VEX Robotics Competition: Change Up. Team 32792B consisted of 3 members (Chloe Ubanan, Katie Robinson, and Madison Barberree) and competed at the district competition in Apopka, FL. During my time, I gained experience with various shop tools, power tools, and CNC Milling.
