Madison is a proud resident of Nashville and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduation, he gained valuable experience working as a clerk in circuit criminal court for two years. During his time at Belmont University College of Law, Madison's passion for leadership and community engagement led him to preside over several boards, including the Belmont Legal Aid Society, the Black Law Student Association, and the American Constitution Society. As President of the Belmont Legal Aid Society, Madison spearheaded the annual fundraiser, which raised just over $6,000 and is the main source of funding for the organization. Despite challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, Madison was able to pivot the fundraiser to an online version, ensuring that the organization had the funds necessary to continue its important work. As President of the Black Law Students Association, Madison led monthly meetings where 3L students presented valuable tips and insights on studying for law school tests and passing writing exams. His leadership and dedication paid off when the starting 1L class retained 100% of its Black law students under his guidance. In addition to his leadership roles, Madison honed his legal skills by interning at the Tennessee Justice Center, a non-profit law firm dedicated to assisting thousands of Tennesseans with obtaining healthcare, as well as the Rutherford County District Attorney's Office before finding his home with the Nashville Defenders. With the Nashville Defenders, he has represented numerous clients in a variety of criminal matters, handling multiple felony cases. His technical legal expertise has resulted in multiple non-convictions for his clients and has connected dozens with the resources desperately needed. Madison has a passion for representing the indigent people of Nashville who cannot afford legal representation. He believes that a person's net worth doesn't determine their value and is committed to providing legal assistance to those who need it most. While Madison's professional accomplishments are impressive, he also enjoys spending his free time outdoors. Madison also loves spending time with his two dogs, Titus and Brego, and his wife, Hannah, who has a passion for helping those struggling with mental health. Together, they enjoy exploring Nashville's vibrant and diverse culture and trying overlooked restaurants. Madison looks forward to continuing to make meaningful contributions to his community both in his legal career and personal life.
