Producer / Project Manager
At Envision Response, I manage projects and produce video advertisements (both TV and digital), including creative development, scripting, assistant directing, and overseeing post-production. I work with a team to prepare and present pitches to potential clients, produce SOWs, develop creative concepts, and create marketing and TV ad campaigns. A large portion of this role includes tracking deliverables and schedules across multiple vendors, teams, and projects throughout the duration of the campaign. My role also includes working with clients to ensure schedules, budgets, deadlines and messaging goals are being met in all facets of the project.
Producer
At KHQ Local News, I produced a daily newscast that consistently held top market ratings and upholds a high standard of excellence by integrating the most relevant and important stories of the day into a cohesive show. I was responsible for selecting most effective elements for each story, such as soundbites, images, graphics, etc., coordinating with reporters for production of original content, and writing the show. While live on the air, I was responsible for communicating with the anchors, director, editor, crew, reporters, timing out the show correctly and producing and writing any breaking news. In this role I also managed the newsroom overnight, handling web content, social media, and any breaking news.
Assistant Producer
At NWPR, I worked to edit the AP and local news stories for the radio broadcast, which included editing audio and arranging the segments. In my role I produced six newscasts twice a week for NWPR’s All Things Considered evening show. As the shows aired live, I simultaneously published and arranged the online content for the NWPR website.
Digital Media Intern
As KING 5’s Digital Media Intern, I was tasked with a variety of activities including writing, editing, taking pictures, and helping manage the online site. I would write AP stories as well as KING 5 original content, with a few stories under my own byline. Often I would help copyedit reporter’s web versions of their stories, and upload and post them to the website. There I would also upload slide shows, and manage different featured content blocks. In addition to publishing stories online, I worked to promote them on social media, via Facebook and Twitter. I was also given the opportunity to cover different events around Seattle and take still photos, and occasionally write my own story to go along with the event. I loved being out in the field and creating my own content, and one of the best opportunities I received was shadowing a multimedia journalist for a day while he covered a story. I have a little experience learning how to be an MMJ from WSU, so being able to see someone shoot, interview, write and edit their own piece in one day was a huge learning experience. Overall, the position gave me the ability to take what I wanted from it, advocate for myself and create my own assignments, and gain a ton of experience from being both in the newsroom and out in the field.
Copy Editor/News Reporter
Daily news reporting including interviewing, in-depth reporting, and writing. Reported on over 80 stories over the course of my tenure at the paper, and spend 20+ hours a week copy editing the entire paper. Ability to work and write quickly, work in teams, conduct interviews, and execute in-depth reporting.
Vice President Foundation
Organized and plan all fundraising and community service for over 150 women, acted as a communicator between our national foundation and chapter, improved overall fundraising for chapter and philanthropy over the course of position, emphasized to the chapter the importance of supporting the Delta Gamma Foundation, plan service projects for Service for Sight, Golden Anchor, and Joining Forces. The website linked below is the website and documents I created for our annual Anchor Splash event, to help increase awareness and bring in sponsors for the event. http://www.wsuanchorsplash.com/
