I am an undergraduate working toward a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a chemistry minor at the University of North Texas. I plan to graduate in May of 2026. I have internship experience through Bob Mann's Medical Clinic in Arlington, alongside a BLS/CPR and OSHA certification. I currently work as a Processor in the laboratory at Methodist Mansfield Hospital where I receive, sort, distribute, and send off specimens for testing either within the hospital's lab or to other facilities ranging from Dallas to Utah. I have an interest in clinical pathology and am currently searching for internship and shadowing opportunities.Through UNT's bacteriophage program under Dr. Lee Hughes, I obtained research experience that grew my love for pathology. I have completed a year and a half of hand-on lab experience and data analysis on specimen isolation, genome sequencing, and analyzation of bacteriophages Ghibli, Kenrey, and Bogata. I am currently in the SEA-PHAGES program at UNT under Dr. Mauricio Antunes. We are currently exploring how the bacteriophage Adephagia's proteins affect the phenotypes of its bacterial hosts. Eventually, we will explore which host proteins the bacteriophage proteins interact with.
