As research director, I managed the production of 100 Lists that are published online and in the weekly edition of the Houston Business Journal. At the end of each year, I also managed the production of the Book of Lists, a 200+ page collection of all The Lists HBJ published during the year. To create The Lists, I curated data from information submitted by companies, third-party resources and open-source research. Alongside HBJ's reporters and editors, I produced additional content featured with The List each week. These analyses added depth to the content in The List and helped readers identify important trends in a given industry.

Bekaert is a multinational wire transformation company. Through them, I have had the opportunity to work on several market research projects and report my findings to decision makers within the company. The first projects ran concurrently with one another. I examined the oil & natural gas industries as well as the coal industry in order to determine the market environment for the company. I had to determine the health of the market for Bekaert and the applications in which its product would serve the industry. These projects not only involved extensive technical research, but in-depth analysis and a high level of organization. In addition to market research for the energy industries described above, I determined potential market entry points for a different Bekaert product geared toward the cattle and agricultural processing industries. This involved analyzing the market segment and determining the types of media, organizations, and other criteria that will allow the company to gain greater insight into the buying patterns of the consumers.
