I worked every position in the kitchen including working with commercial fryers, grills, and toasters. I also worked on “table” which consisted of putting the sandwiches and the food part of the orders together. I constantly made sure all areas of kitchen were stocked, swept, wiped down, and cleaned thoroughly throughout my shifts.I was nominated for employee of the month twice for all of my hard work and dedication to coming in early or staying longer to help out when understaffed.I also washed and put away dishes, took out trash and boxes out to the dumpsters, and made sure to prep everything for the next day, before my shift was over.

I worked as a cook for all three parts of the kitchen. I cooked everything from breakfast to dinner. I was first put on the “middle” station, where I’d cook stuff from pancakes to Italian hoagies and wraps using a flattop and line bar setup. I was also in charge of the waffle irons, ovens, and the hot bar where we kept sauces, gravies, mashed potatoes. Next I was then placed into the “boards” station where I’d finish plates up or dress burger buns using a separate line bar. I had to have good communication with grill station so they knew when I needed more of a fried side. Lastly I was taught the “grill” station where I used another flat top, fryers, toasters, and char-boilers. This station was in charge of putting things down in the fryer, putting meat down on time, and cooking eggs.

I originally started out as a server and would take customers orders, would bring food/drinks out to customers, and bussed and cleaned tables. I would also answer the phone to take to go orders and would bag them up for the bar to hand them once the customer got there. On the nights I stayed till close I would sweep and mop the dining room, change the trashes, toilet paper, and paper towels in the bathrooms, roll silverware, and stock dressings before leaving.After about a month of serving, I switched over to cooking and learned how to cook everything on both fryer and grill sides of the kitchen. I mainly cooked on the fryer side and was also in charge of closing back there. I made sure things were stocked, swept, mopped, and made sure everything was just overall clean and organized daily.

I worked as a donation processor for everything but books, movies and media. I would process clothing, accessories, household items, furniture, and technology and make sure it was good quality and sellable as it would come in hourly, every day. When I wasn’t processing donations, I would constantly clean and straighten out the sales floor getting rid of older donations that haven’t sold, to send to the outlet stores, to make room for the new donations coming in. I would straighten up the books and media section, and would help carry furniture in and out of the store. I helped customers when they needed it and was great at working with many other people. I was very good at making sure the front and the back of the store were in order and were kept clean and organized, and I always offered help to any of my coworkers who needed it.

I have worked in every position other than management. I have taken orders, handled money, and gave back change. I bagged and handed food and drinks out to customers, I have worked every position in kitchen so I have used grills and deep fryers. I also learned how to make everything. I have worked front counter/lobby. I closed so I constantly swept, did dishes, mopped, and just made sure everything was clean and taken care of.
