At CST Academy, we specialize in providing life-changing therapeutic services for children with autism spectrum disorder, focusing on ages 2-6. Our multidisciplinary approach includes ABA therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychological services, and a therapeutic preschool and kindergarten program. Our holistic approach to intervention ensures comprehensive care and support for our learners. As an ABA therapist I will plan and provide individualized therapy for a diverse group of children. Use data to make informed decisions for skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs. Work closely with BCBAs to implement personalized programs for each child. Foster strong connections with children and their families, demonstrating creativity and flexibility in my approach.

Directed by trained therapists, Camp Neeka provides children ages 7-16 with the opportunity to create friendships, build self-esteem, develop communication strategies and coping skills to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

In this role I provided chapter specific mental health programming and met with individuals throughout the chapter who were struggling with their mental health. I met with Panhellenic Council representatives to discuss the state of mental health in the PHC community and ideas on how to improve it. I attended guest speakers regarding mental health education, intervention, and prevention. I was a resource to help connect those struggling with mental health resources on campus.

Throughout this opportunity I worked with children 4 to 12 years old with Autism, Anxiety, and ADHD. I implemented problem solving strategies as well as positive reinforcement strategies to encouraged desired behaviors. In this role, I provided clear and detailed updates on the child's progress and potential concerns. As requested, I implemented parent approved behavioral guidance. Working as a nanny it was essential for me to create a positive and nurturing environment for the child. Utilizing my background in counseling based courses, I was able to understand and empathize with children facing diverse behavioral and emotional challenges while creating and maintaining a structured and supportive environment.

Volunteering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Johnston County, IA, I was able to develop my understanding of community mental health care. During my time volunteering with NAMI from October 2022 to May 2023, I aided in organizing their group therapy materials for the different programs they offered. I was a well-educated resource for the community on the different programs they offered for those experiencing mental illness, as well as support for their families. I aided in organizational and marketing efforts for their events, like the annual NAMI walk, which allowed me to understand the complexity of community mental health care.
