My job responsibilities consist of bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, meal preparation, administering medications, accompanying patients to and from appointments, assisting with grocery shopping, and providing emotional and physical support. I welcome the patients, check them in for their appointment, collect their copays, book further appointments for them, set new patients up in the computer system to start physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech/language therapy. Call to remind patients of their appointment the day before, answering the phone, scan patient paperwork/insurance card/referrals, keep the patients in the know of their referral and authorization end dates, and communicate with the billing department, insurance companies and insurance department.
