Ever since I was in middle school I had a passion for women's health. After starting college and taking courses in the life sciences, I knew that I wanted to help women in any aspect of health. Eliminating health disparities and finding ways to aid those in need is what I hope to do as I continue to learn and grow as a student and future healthcare worker.

As an advisory committee member, I volunteer as an ambassador for Sharsheret within the Tampa Bay region. I help to make new community connections, speak on behalf of Sharsheret at local events, and continue to spread our resources and services to aid women and families living with or at an increased genetic risk of breast or ovarian cancer.

Research Coordinator

Through my HRSA funded MCH Scholar program, I participated in an Academic-Community Research Internship where I was matched with a faculty member who was conducting research in a field important to me. With this, I worked alongside Dr. Dinorah Martinez-Tyson and her team on Phase 2 of their PCORI grant. This grant is helping the overall study of Together After Cancer, which is a program assisting Latina breast cancer survivors and their intimate partners navigate breast cancer and life after. Throughout my time, I assisted with creating new recruitment materials, dissemination of Phase 1 focus group information, maintain participant incentive tracking, translation of community advisory board interviews, and contact potential participants to hopefully be eligible and enroll in the Together After Cancer study.
