One significant way I’ve contributed to my community is through volunteering at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I’ve had first-hand experience encouraging young minds and helping people of all ages engage with marine exhibits. This also broadened my love and knowledge of marine life. I’ve participated in workshops and many hands-on experiences. I’ve learned firsthand that by bringing marine biology directly to the community, we can potentially create a generation of people, committed to preserving our oceans. My pursuit of a dual degree in marine biology and education is rooted in a commitment to contribute to positive change in my community. I hope to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and community action.
