Family Relations CaptainPenn State Thon™ Sep 2024 - PresentAs a Family Relations Captain for THON 2025, I work on the Adopt-A-Family Team. In this position, I grade all Adopt-A-Family applications from THON General/Special Interest Organizations as they are handed in to Family Relations and pair organizations with families based on application performance and strength of relationships with families. On the team, we facilitate over 5 educational workshops for these organizations who have the privilege to be a part of the Adopt-A-Family Program. Specifically on the team, I serve as the primary contact for the General/Special Interest Organizations and their respected paired Four Diamonds Families. I am responsible for trackacking these organizations’ efforts and activities with their paired THON Families throughout the year to ensure that organizations and THON Families are maintaining happy and supportive relationships within their pairings. With this, the Adopt-A-Family team also enforces our rules vert strictly. We highlight outstanding organizations and penalize organizations that do not fulfill their duties within AAF. -

We spearhead multiple Professional Development workshops for our members to grow their LinkedIn, Resume, etc. We were able to collaborate with our alumni – older and newer – encouraging them to come guest speak to our members about internship opportunities at their companies, advice on different career paths, and to speak on professional experiences. More intimate parts of this role included participating in Professional and Leadership Development Seminars and one-on-one mentorship opportunities between us, chapter, and external people and resources. -
